Chris created this grid piece in an art class as a tribute to his mother and her strength in surviving breast cancer. In 2021, this piece cultivated more meaning since Chris’ mother passed away. It is a reminder of her determination to fight a lifelong struggle with various diseases. Her steadfast upbeat attitude and outlook on life helped her gain numerous friends and accomplish many goals, all while raising two kids. She had an amazing capacity for empathy and compassion.
